South African TV ad “The Reader” promotes literacy & scotch
Literacy. At any age. Is a good thing. Nearly 95 percent of this video tells the story of an older man who decides to learn how to read. Nicely edited scenes reveal the effort he puts in and the support he receives on his journey. His motivation is revealed in a poignant ending, and that feeds nicely into why it is an ad. Bell’s Scotch is featured as part of the celebration. Even so, I was a little welled-up by the finish. 😥
