Penn Jillette says Newtown tragedy is anomaly ~ Wendy Williams Show

Penn Jillette holds his own against a rather passionate pro gun control panel on the Wendy Williams Show. He brings up some excellent points much ignored by the talking heads in the media. His main argument is that the murders in Newtown were an anomaly, and that if we want to protect children, focus first on more common dangers that kill many more kids, e.g., unprotected swimming pools. Gun control can fit into the effort to protect our kids (my sentiments, not necessarily Jillette’s), but it doesn’t deserve being a top priority. Other dangers kill more kids.

Shooting (at) your boss with AK-47 ~ SFW

UPDATE: Watched the video a couple more times, and doubt the shooter used three round burst setting–just had a fast trigger finger…Still, really dumb thing to do.

Shooting at boss with AK-47 ~ I assume this is real, but who knows. The employee appears to shoot at his boss with an AK-47 in a three shot burst, which I believe is a setting for the rifle and inherently difficult to control.

The boss is protected behind his company’s product—bullet-resistant/bullet-proof safety glass—and a steel plate below the glass. The glass is a huge safety concern, but so is the employee’s aim and the very real possibility of a ricochet hitting the employee, boss, or  spectators. Aside from this being an inherently stupid & dangerous demo, setting the rifle to a three shot burst (and having a concrete backstop so close to people) is totally wacko.

On the other hand, it does prove the point–the glass will stop AK-47 rounds.

Ruger 22/45 Lite ~ I want this gun!

Ruger 22/45 Lite ~ This looks like a fun gun to shoot. I’ve shot Ruger Mark IIs plenty, and the Ruger 22/45 series look similar in a lot of ways–except for the significant difference in the grip angle, which is designed to emulate the 1911.

YouTuber BRANDON401401 made an excellent get acquainted video of the Ruger 22/45 Lite, which features an aluminum, “Gold Anodized” receiver to keep the weight down to a trim 22.8 ounces. The 4.4-inch stainless steel barrel has a threaded end for muzzle accessories (suppressor, muzzle break).
