Title sequence of the David Fincher’s version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is totally fantastic. Not sure yet what it has to do with the story, but it’s a great piece of effects, editing, and cinematography. Super cool.
After enjoying the Swedish version of this Dragon Tattoo series, I didn’t really want to like this remake…but Rooney Mara gives as compelling a portrayal of Lisbeth as Noomi Rapace did in the Swedish version. And what’s not to like about Daniel Craig, Robin Wright, Stellan Skarsgård, and the seemingly immortal Christopher Plummer?
In fact, I think Fincher might have done a better job in communicating the ins and outs of this complicated story. Or perhaps it’s just that I’m more familiar with the story and can more easily trace the significance of even subtle clues along the way. In any case, I totally enjoyed this second take on the girl with the dragon tattoo…and piercings.
