Mazda CX-5, he like the Japanese made, mazda made transmission--not jayco. Seems to be doing well so far. Avoid the smaller 4 c and get the larger one.
PO171 I think scotty had same code I had on infiniti, too lean. He addressed it differently.
Scotty like the Acura ILX w/ the 8 speed dual clutch tranny. Rare for Scotty to recommend a Honda/Accura transmission.
USE ATF-TYPE 2.0 transmission fluid--don't go cheap.
OBD scan tool that Scotty really likes. It's brand new, so a little glitchy, but very powerful.
Scotty says the Honda Civic has an excellent, reliable engine. And his civic customers have not had transmission issues. Those creep in on Accord and larger cars. Honda is good at making small cars. Even so, standard transmission may be the way to go.
Windshields are part of the structure of that car. Cheap not always best. Installation takes heating up the sealant and letting the whole installation cure. Mobile installers whco come to your house or work probably don't allow for that or use less effective alternative techniques. Also the windshields themselves need to be carefully made. Avoid cheap Chinese windshields.
Use NuFinish to polish your windshield.
Scotty like the Lexus GS350
Scotty says this model is better with a CVT transmission w/ 6 cylinder engine. The 6 speed trannie had trouble. Otherwise, and reliable car. ONly made for a couple years because the 6 speed failures gave it a terrible reputation.
One Nissan Scotty would buy: 1999 Nissan 240SX
Don't buy used car with non-functional A/C (if A/C is important to you). A/Cs can be expensive to fix. Scotty talks about the old Toyota Vans like I had. He liked them. They stopped making them because they were expensive to build :(
Use OEM transmission fluid. VERY important to use the right fluid for your vehicle.
